It's October, so you know what that means: zombie DLC announcements.
Zombies tend to show up in pop culture much like how poison ivy might show up after time spent rolling naked through a forest; unwanted, but inevitable. Don't get me wrong, zombies clearly have a place in games, but that's usually only when the work is centered around zombies from the start with a few notable exceptions.
Sleeping Dogs is the latest game to be bitten and turned into a shambling vessel of undead horror. The game's upcoming DLC, Nightmare at North Point, was recently demo'd at New York Comic Con, and the DLC is looking a bit...quirky. The zombies are a bit more animated than your average undead bear. They seem more keen on performing rigidly animated martial arts than feasting on Wei Shen's flesh.
According to a report from Polygon, the DLC will be story-based and it will release on October 30th.
Personally, I'm waiting for the undead to invade Democracy 2. Just imagine: one could simulate the intricate ways in which a democratic government would break down in the event of a zombie apocalypse.
